Service Description

A mala, like a rosary, is a string of beads used to count mantras. A personal mala is a precious and meaningful object. When you string your own mala, you have the opportunity to place beautiful intentions into the beads and stones so the mala can be worn as a reminder of the affirmations you want to carry with you. The mala is a traditional garland of 108 prayer beads. The 109th bead is called a guru bead and symbolizes gratitude and connection to the divine. Together we will be exploring in depth the very holy number 108 and its relationship to the Fibonacci sequence. Every bead represents a truth, and meditating on them with an affirmation, or mantra, is used to bring peace of mind. The mala can also be seen as a metaphor for life: a small knot between each of the beads represents a challenge between the smoother, more beautiful aspects of life. In this fun, inspiring workshop participants will learn the sacred art of mala making and how mala are used in daily practice. you will learn how to meditate with the mala you create. Come with an open mind and open heart and walk away with a beautiful meditation tool and representation of your intentions. Materials are included in the price of the workshop.
